Routine exams and cleanings
Routine exams give Dr. Foreman a chance to evaluate your teeth and gums, review changes since your last visit, and decide whether X-rays or other information are needed. Professional cleanings remove buildup that brushing and flossing leave behind.
Periodontal care
Gum care may need to go beyond a routine cleaning. An exam helps Dr. Foreman determine what kind of periodontal care is appropriate and whether a referral is needed.
Fluoride treatment and sealants
Fluoride treatment and dental sealants are preventive options that may help protect teeth. An exam helps determine whether either option fits your needs.
Fillings
A filling may repair a smaller area of decay or damage while preserving the healthy tooth around it. An exam helps determine whether a filling provides enough support for the tooth.
Nitrous oxide
Nitrous oxide is available as one option for some patients during dental treatment. Ask whether it may be appropriate for your visit and what to expect.
Occlusal guards
An occlusal guard may be recommended when an exam shows signs of clenching, grinding, or tooth wear. The guard is made to fit your teeth and help protect them.
When something has changed
Send an appointment request if you have pain, sensitivity, swelling, a damaged tooth, or another change. A dentist will need to examine the area before recommending treatment. Do not wait on the form if the concern is urgent.
